Pete and Angela Mitchell, a couple from Altadena, Los Angeles, California, had to evacuate their home due to a devastating wildfire. After some time, they returned to assess the damage and were met with a pile of rubble.

Describing the destruction caused by the wildfire in Los Angeles, the couple told the BBC that when they arrived, their home was no longer there.

The couple got out of the car in front of their home, only to discover that their entire house had been reduced to ashes.

Pete and Angela Mitchell, after witnessing the destruction, felt a sense of breathlessness. Pete, an electrician for Disney, managed to find a few items among the rubble of their home.

These included some of Pete’s woodworking tools and part of a new chandelier, which had been recently installed in their home. They also discovered a tin can belonging to Angela, which she had used to store sewing needles and thread. Inside the can, they found a few needles.

Almost everything else had been destroyed by the wildfire.

The couple had been living in the area since 2013, and they had always felt fortunate to be part of the community. They describe the neighborhood as having a unique spirit of camaraderie and resilience. They are confident that the community will rebuild whatever was lost in the fire.

Los Angeles, known as the entertainment hub of the world, began experiencing the wildfire on Tuesday. It is being referred to as one of the worst fires in history. The flames are spreading rapidly due to high winds, and the fire has claimed the lives of at least seven people, with nearly 200,000 residents fleeing to safety.
