Singer and actress Mandy Moore wrote on Instagram that she had to leave the area with her children and pets to escape the fire. A resident of Altadena, Los Angeles, Moore further shared that her neighborhood was destroyed by the wildfire. Fortunately, she was able to evacuate her family before the wildfire became even more catastrophic.

The same fate befell popular TV personality Paris Hilton. Her home in Malibu was completely destroyed by the fire. She learned about it from live news coverage and shared glimpses of it on Instagram, stating, “I hope no one else has to experience this.” She also mentioned that the house held many precious memories, all of which were consumed by the flames. Her family members and pets were safely evacuated.

Actor Cary Elwes, known for his role in The Princess Bride, also shared the terrifying experience. His home was burned to the ground as well. Fortunately, other members of his family managed to survive.

Actor Billy Crystal’s house was also destroyed, and he lived there with his wife and children in Pacific Palisades.

Star Wars star Mark Hamill posted on Instagram, mentioning that he and his wife, along with their pet dog, had to leave their home in Malibu. The road they traveled on was also engulfed in flames. Actor Spencer Pratt’s house in Pacific Palisades was also burned in the wildfire. He posted a video on Snapchat, saying, “My house is burning, I’m watching this on video. It feels like a terrible nightmare.”

British actress Kate Beckinsale, a longtime resident of Pacific Palisades, shared photos of the devastation on Instagram. She wrote, “Most of my and my daughter’s childhood was spent here. In an instant, our childhood is gone. My heart is broken.”

Originally, the final Oscar nominations were set to be announced on January 17, but now the date has been moved to January 19. Voting for nominations started on January 8 and was supposed to end on January 12, but now Academy voters will have until January 14 to cast their votes.

The Critics’ Choice Awards have also been delayed. This event, which honors the best works in film and television for the year, was originally set for this Sunday but has now been rescheduled to January 26.
